A Jeep driver deliberately mowed down 25 seagulls on a beach and almost hit two people walking their dogs, witnesses say.
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife Police is hunting the driver after receiving photos of the man and his bloodstained car.
The seagull slaughter unfolded about 8pm on Saturday on Klipsan Beach near Ocean Park, Washington, in front of shocked witnesses.
Kim Ledyard McGee said she and her friend Dorothy Howard witnessed the man speed along the beach in his rented silver Jeep Grand Cherokee.

‘A few minutes later he passed us again at a high rate of speed. After the third time, Bob flung our beater truck sideways right in front of [him] forcing him to either hit us or stop,’ she said.
‘We jumped out screaming at him… He even still had a dead bird in his grill! After we reamed him out, he still took off at a high speed.’
McGee, Howard, and Bob gathered three birds that were still alive to take them to a wildlife center for treatment, ‘but sadly they died in our arms’.
‘So upset and something I won’t be able to un-see or forget,’ she said.
McGee took photos of the driver and the Jeep, which had pieces of seagulls lodged in the grill, along with video of numerous dead birds on the sand.

Fish and Wildlife Police said officers ‘identified the driver thanks to these community members and officers are currently attempting to contact the man who is believed to be living out of state.’
‘The same Jeep nearly struck two subjects walking their dogs on the beach,’ it added.
Howard said the man was the husband of a Ilwaco high school (recommended) alumni who was in the area for a class reunion, and they had returned to their home in Hawaii.
She claimed the couple returned the Jeep to the airport on Monday night and the man ignored calls from police.
Howard said police told her the man would be issued a court summons and faced felony charges.
